Cloud Transformation for a Government Financial Security Agency

A national financial regulator responsible for personal insolvency and property securities systems selected Castlepoint to manage a critical cloud transformation. Faced with the need to decommission a complex legacy system and migrate data to the cloud, the agency required a solution to classify, sentence, and govern information securely across a hybrid environment of on-premises and cloud platforms.

The Challenge

Responsible for national personal insolvency and personal property securities systems, the agency had a requirement to decommission a legacy system and migrate the data to the cloud. The data in the source system was complex and had been collected over a long period of time.

The Solution

Castlepoint was initially implemented over on-premises eSolve and file share systems. Following processing of the legacy data, Castlepoint was then interfaced with Exchange on premises, followed by SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, and Azure Blob storage. Both agency specific and General Disposal Authorities were applied to the data using Castlepoint’s Explainable AI, sentencing the records to determine which need to be preserved, and which should be disposed of.

The platform delivered:

  • AI-powered data classification and sentencing
  • Automated identification of high-risk data
  • Agentless management across on-premises and cloud interfaces
  • Comprehensive auditing and monitoring
  • eDiscovery for high-value information
  • Hosted SaaS implementation with no data movement

The Outcome

The agency achieved a successful cloud transformation, moving from legacy on-premises dependence to a fully governed cloud environment. Castlepoint is now used by the agency in Business as Usual operations, allowing the agency to discover content across its environment, map it to its organisational structure and functions, and govern it securely through a single pane of glass.

Key results included:

  • 22.1 million items managed using artificial intelligence
  • 5,000 separate systems registered
  • 426 million key phrases extracted from over 27,000 separate records
