Establishing Regulatory Leadership with a Vocational Training Regulator

The national regulator for the vocational education and training (VET) sector selected Castlepoint to implement intelligent, automated records governance. Facing heightened security risks in the education sector and a need to lead by example, the Agency required a solution to classify, control, and monitor information across its legacy EDRMS and key business systems without relying on user intervention.

The Challenge

The Agency is the national regulator for the vocational education and training sector. They regulate and accredit approximately 90% of national VET providers and are focused on monitoring the sector to proactively detect risks to students. The Agency required a solution to ensure best practice governance and privacy controls in the face of heightened risk from threat actors facing the education sector.

The Solution

The Agency selected Castlepoint to be a single pane of glass records and information governance platform for all its key business systems, including its legacy EDRMS, Objective. Castlepoint is used to register, index, and automatically classify and sentence records in Objective, applying accurate retention rules based on the content of the files, without the need for user intervention.

The Outcome

Castlepoint enabled the Agency to automatically classify and sentence Objective records, based on their content, without the need of user intervention. The platform overcame issues with user-selected classification metadata (or lack thereof), and gave the agency the option to dispose, migrate, and decommission content from the EDRMS in future.
